A few days ago, a user on the Chinese site Baidu Tieba posted a few screenshots which shows that the new OS has a new user interface, Start menu, and many more features.

Start menu:

At first glance, the user interface and Start menu looks quite similar to that of Windows 10X. But you can see that Microsoft has centered the app icons. This gives Start Menu a cleaned-up look. Also, there are no live tiles. It includes pinned apps, recent files, and the ability to quickly shut down or restart devices.

Redesigned Settings App:

Microsoft is also redesigned the Settings app with the new OS update. The new design gives it a much cleaner look. The screenshot was shared from an Italian tech blog (taken down now) and was reshared on Windows 10 subreddit.

Microsoft tweaked the Settings app to include colorful icons for key options. They placed all the main options towards the left of the app, which in turn acts as a sidebar. This way, it is easier to quickly jump between all the various Settings options without having to come back to the primary screen.

UI Revamp with Rounded Corners:

Microsoft has added rounded corners for UI components across the operating system and implemented a floating start menu, similar to that of Windows 10X. The Start menu itself also includes rounded corners.

Taskbar:

Microsoft has also revamped the taskbar in this new version of Windows. The taskbar is centered by default on the new Windows featuring the start menu, default icons and search bar like Chrome OS. There’s also a dedicated icon in the taskbar labelled widgets.

Snap Assist functionality:

With the new update, you can also choose the placement of the window while maximizing it. Just hover the cursor over the maximize button to see the new snap assist window. They’re modern equivalents of the cascade windows function that has existed in the operating system for years.

New Startup Sound and Wallpapers:

Microsoft has added new system startup sound and new wallpapers in new Windows 11.

Improved Xbox Experience:

Microsoft is also improving the Xbox experience in Windows 11. It offers quick access to Xbox Game Pass games, the social parts of Xbox network, and the Xbox store. The Xbox Game Bar and Windows Game Mode all remain the same as Windows 10 in this early leaked build.

There’s rumors that Windows 11 could be made available as a free upgrade. This free upgrade might not just be Windows 10 users but also for those running Windows 7 and Windows 8.1.

Earlier, Microsoft has run a free upgrade program for Windows 10 enabling its users on Windows 7 and later versions to move to the latest operating system. But they ended the free upgrades in 2017. Although the users on Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 were found to have the option available till a few months back.

Well, as of now there is no official news regarding the same.

According to reports, Microsoft is overhauling its Windows app store to allow developers to submit any Windows application, including browsers like Chrome or Firefox. Microsoft might also be considering allowing third-party commerce platforms in apps, allowing developers to avoid the cut Microsoft usually takes from in-app purchase systems.

Windows 11 Release Date:

Microsoft will announce Windows 11 on June 24 at 11 am ET (or approximately 8:30 pm IST). This event will be attended by Satya Nadella and Panos Panay, Microsoft’s chief product officer.

Microsoft is expected to release an Insider preview build soon after the event so we can expect a stable release sometime in October 2021.

Steps to Install Windows 11:

1.Download the Windows 11 ISO image from the above links.

2.Right-click on the ISO image and then click on “Mount“.

4. A Windows 11 installer will open up. Click on “Next“.

5. After that, click on “Accept“.

6. Then a “Ready to Install Windows 11” prompt will appear. Click on “Change what to keep” to customize your Windows 11 installation.

7. Select an option of your choice.

8. Finally, click on “Install“, and Windows 11 installation process will start.

9. Once the update is complete, your login screen will appear. Enter your PIN or password if you had any on your Windows 10 setup and hit enter.

10. And thats it! Windows 11 is now live on your PC with your license, apps, files, and everything intact.

What if PC Can’t Run Windows 11?

You need to download a small appraiserres.dll file. Click here to download the ZIP file. After that, extract the ZIP file to get the DLL file.

2. Now, right-click on the Windows 11 ISO image and mount it. After that, copy all the files and folders inside the ISO image.

4. Open the Windows 11 folder and paste everything (Ctrl +V) you copied from the Windows 11 ISO image.

5. Copy the DLL file.
